Foods to Nourish and Cleanse the Liver

Wondering what foods can aid your liver in cleansing on a daily basis?

Here  they are and they are so versatile that you can eat some every day!! Try them in juices, smoothies, soups with a kombu or wakame base , and salads.  They will aid in alkalizing the intestines, nourishing the body, and supply plenty of B vitamins while cleansing the liver.

Asparagus and  Celery are good liver cleansers.

Beets Juice – 3 oz per day-  start with an oz and increase slowly.

Carrots help build the blood and encourage the secretion of bile.


Eat chlorophyll-rich foods such as:  Collard Greens, Endive, Kale, Dandelion Greens, Arugula, Mustard Greens, Romaine, Watercress, Spinach – raw in salads, lightly steamed, juiced, in green smoothies.


Lemons and Lime 6 Oz of warm water and juice of half of lemon first thing in the morning alkalizes the body and flushes the acidity built up during the night.


Daikon Radish – grated on salads -are especially helpful in taking fats from the body.

Leeks have antiseptic properties and aid the bile in keeping the intestines clean.

Young coconut kefir has an excellent ability to cleanse the liver. One half cup with each meal, upon waking and at bedtime is the recommended amount to drink

Eggs Yolk
are wonderful for liver as they contain lecithin (a fat emulsifier and brain food.) Cook soft boiled or poached so as not to destroy the lecithin content. Eggs are high in the sulfur-bearing amino acids taurine, cysteine and methionine, which are required for the liver to produce bile and generate glutathione, the most important liver enzyme detoxifier.


I have now earned the right for my liver to cleanse and become completely healthy.
