Russian Cabbage Soup

1 lb Hamburger
2 cups Green Cabbage, Chopped
1/2 cups Carrots, grated
1 cup Celery, diced
1 cup Onion, sliced thinly
2 cups Stewed Tomatoes (1 – 14 oz. can will suffice)
1 Tbsp Parsley
1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
3 tsp. Salt
1 tsp Black Pepper
a pinch Cayenne Pepper
1/2 cup Dry Red Wine (Optional)
Enough Water to make 3 quarts of soup

Brown hamburger in 3 quart soup pot. Add all of the remaining ingredients. Cover, bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium low, and let simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and let stand for a few minutes before serving. Freezes well.
